We had a fantastic week at the 39th American Society for Precision Engineering Annual meeting in Houston, TX, where Jingjie made an oral presentation on his work on surrogate-model assisted control co-design framework for overactuated precision stages, and Junnan shared his work on topology optimization guided lightweight stage design via poster. We also hosted the UW-Madison WEMPEC booth and enjoyed lots of exciting conversations connecting WEMPEC with ASPE.
It is also extremely exciting that the UW-Madison team (jointly with Northwestern) won first place in this year’s ASPE student challenge! Congratulations to Mohammad and Junnan!
