Congratulations to Dr. Ian Heyman, the first Ph.D. graduate from our lab, for successfully defending their dissertation and completing their doctoral journey!
Dr. Heyman’s PhD thesis focuses on the design, building, and testing for a new type of magnetically levitated motion stage LevCube, featuring the first of its kind system with 10mm stroke in all DOFs and minimizing power consumption for gravity compensation. This design enables high-precision and high-efficiency sample positioning in a series of nanomanufacturing and instrumentation applications. Dr. Heyman’s thesis can be found at here: Link
Ian is starting as a Senior Control Engineer at Canon Nanotechnologies.
